Live Webcast : Through this service, the transmission of live or pre-recorded audio or video to personal computers that are connected to the Internet can be done.
On-Demand Webcast : Through this service, Pre-recorded clips are delivered, or streamed, to users upon request. A user who clicks a link to an on-demand clip watches the clip from the beginning. The user can fast-forward, rewind, or pause the clip. On demand streams can be created from archived live events or recorded clips.

NIC Webcast Service includes
NIC has been providing live/on-demand webcast services to Central and State Government for important National, International and regional, educational events, conferences and other live events. Live webcast services are provided for Government TV channels such as Lok Sabha TV, Rajya Sabha TV, Doordarshan News, UGC – CEC higher educational channel among others on 24×7 basis.
Important events such as Union Budget speech, President’s address to the nation, Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat & other speeches, Independence and Republic Day celebrations at New Delhi, Proceedings of State Assemblies, other national events/conferences like Make in India, Skill India, Start-up India, Digital India, Yoga Day are covered using NIC Webcast services.

Online booking system for availing NIC Webcasting Services has been developed by NIC Videoconferencing Technologies and Services Division as a step towards enhancing the efficiency, transparency and accessibility of NIC Webcasting Services for Government users. The online booking system can be accessed by registered users through https://nicwebcast.nic.in, for booking, approval, payment and reporting processes related to NIC Webcasting Services.
