    Sanstha Aadhaar (formerly known as the Rajasthan Business Register) is the single frame of reference for all institutions in the state — Government Departments, Boards, Corporations, Autonomous Bodies, Non-Government Organisations and enterprises, including private establishments operating in Rajasthan. A Unique ID, the Sanstha Aadhaar Number (SAN), is issued to every institution online through the portal.

    Institutions can apply using the owner’s or Nodal person’s Aadhaar / Janaadhaar number / PAN and receive an instant SAN with a certificate on their registered email and SMS, without any manual intervention. The Rajasthan Government has made SAN mandatory before any establishment can give or avail Government grants or services in the state.

    In 2016, the Government of Rajasthan notified that every business entrepreneur setting up an enterprise in the state must obtain a Business Registration Number (BRN) online. In January 2023, this was extended further — any establishment in Rajasthan must obtain a Sanstha Aadhaar Number (SAN) online. The NIC Rajasthan-developed portal has automated and simplified the registration process; there is no offline mechanism, and institutions no longer need to visit any office. The portal is integrated with the Single Window System of the state and other registering authorities, minimising the movement of paper documents.

    Sanstha Aadhaar is an integrated system that captures details of institutions running and to-be-established in Rajasthan. The District Sanstha Aadhaar Register serves as a useful tool for district-level statistical information and for conducting sector-wise surveys over time. The system helps the Government of Rajasthan keep track of institutional activity across the state, generating an area-wise activity profile for planning purposes.
