Video Conferencing
NIC provides one of the largest High Definition Video Conferencing Services in the country for the Central and State Governments Departments.
It is offering VC services since 1995, which is being used for monitoring various Government Projects, Schemes, Public Grievances, Monitoring of Law and Order, Hearings of RTI cases, Distance Education, Tele-Medicine, monitoring of Election processes, Launching of new schemes and more.
NIC-VC Services seamlessly integrates laptops, desktops, tablets, smart phones, room-based systems and legacy equipment’s in order to provide ‘Any time Anywhere’ Service.
NIC’s VC services are being regularly used by Hon’ble President of India, Hon’ble Vice President of India, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Chief Justices of India and other Judiciary Officials, Governors, Central and State Government Minsters, Chief Ministers, Cabinet Secretary, Secretaries to Government of India, Chief Secretaries, Chief Information Commissioner and other Government Officials across country at all levels.
VC Service Platforms
NIC offers two major types of videoconferencing (VC) platforms to support government and administrative communication needs:
- Studio-based Videoconferencing Platform
- Cloud based Videoconferencing Platform
Studio-Based Videoconferencing Platform
NIC has setup around 2400+ studios for providing videoconferencing services to Government officials which are located at Ministries / Departments / State secretariat’s, UTs and District Centres.
Each NIC VC Studios has a H.323 / SIP based Video Conferencing System connected over NICNET. Multiple locations can be connected in a single meeting with the help of
a centralized infrastructure (MCU). Typically, each studio can accommodate up to 8-10 participants.
Cloud Based Video Conferencing Platform
NIC also provides cloud-based VC services, allowing users to participate in a virtual meeting from any device ie. desktop, laptop, mobile (IoS/Android) using any browser (MaC, Chrome, Mozilla, Firefox etc.) having internet connecivity.

VC Booking Process
It may be noted that NIC VC service can be availed only by Central and State Governments Officials, who can access the services as a pre-registered user by using their official email id (xxx@gov.in & xxx@nic.in) through portal (https://reserve.nic.in)
